Stillness
MANY TIMES A LACK OF SOUND CAN BRING THE RICHEST ANSWERS… I’ve been in a season of stillness. And in this position, I’m noticing when Jesus spoke and when He had nothing to say! There were times He answered all the questions and there were times “He remained silent and gave no reply.” Knowing when to show up- speak up- or stay still, is quite a hard lesson for me. Not giving answers when you have some. Not showing up to every single service, event, conference, prayer intercession, meeting, party, or occasion. For two decades, it seemed I did! Even when I was not mentally there, I was physically present.…

Firmly Standing
Did you get knocked down a bunch of times like I did before finally finding a way to stand stronger? The red words in our bibles say this: “…the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.” When we are saved or rescued, we’re kept in health and well being! We are given the chance to recover. That is what Jesus does for us. By firmly standing, He modeled what it is to not stop during most difficult seasons. A firm stand is this… Resilient- Fixed- Decided- Settled- Definitely Established- Not uncertain. Having the opposite of a firm stand is this… Compromising- Fickle- Fluctuating- Hesitating- Undecided- Unhealthy. We…

Is It Burnout?
I answered the phone at work and an older man’s voice said: “Hey, I’ll be back in the gym soon. I just wanted ya’ll to know what’s been going on with me. I’ve had a down-in-the-dumps situation…. ” I told him: “Mr. so and so, you are not the only one! There are many people pushing through these times and I’m thankful for your honesty. I am also appreciative of the accountability you are setting up for yourself by calling and telling someone! We want you to be healthy. We want you to get back at what helps you be better and living life well.” These conversations are happening all…

He’s Always My Help.
Jesus woke me up. He gave me life. A full one. And I’m rising up still! I’m taking on new levels. The God ladder is never too short. Not only will it be steps you need to get out of the pit, it will be steps to further you the rest of your life to your next levels! Lazarus would say: “Jesus awakens us. Jesus raises dead stuff. And dead people. He helped me and came to the grave. He told people who had given up, to take the grave clothes off and let me out!!” No matter how many days it’s been that somebody’s been lost in the dark,…

Letting the Supernatural show…
Did you know there’s a supernatural side of you?! Though I was a gymnast, cheerleader, softball player, on the track team, a J.C.Penny team board “model” once, and served in plenty of leadership endeavors, I honestly was not exceptional in any one thing, don’t extraordinarily stand out in a crowd, haven’t won awards for being photogenic, and never entered a beauty pageant. My parents didn’t care to have me involved in them and what a relief that was for me! This is just my story and for the most part, I was carefree and sporty. I attended church if we weren’t at the beach or if something else didn’t come…

Supernaturally standing out
Some people naturally stand out. Though it isn’t a problem for me to admit that I was made to be different, I am not the person who always said: “I was made to stand out!” Lol. All I really am is an average person who met the incredible God. And He made me different. I’m not spectacular or even the better half of my marriage especially if you’re counting up who has the most followers on the socials! But when I decide that The Living God will move through me- once I become available to that, then The Supernatural is going to show up in some way. It’s my surrender.…

Made by… God
Labels and tags identify, tell information, purpose, and meaning. Though we don’t have a little paper tag on us that reads: MADE IN THE USA, we’ve got something way better… qualities that can be read: MADE BY GOD. We are “fearfully and wonderfully made” by our Creator. No manufacturing company could produce the incredible variety that He has made! There are millions of products out there but there is only one you. When you think about how amazing this really is, are you challenged to walk the path of integrity and seek the “non-paper tag” Designer? Some people don’t want to do this because they’re scared to represent God. But…

STABILIZER
When we are jittery, flighty, anxious, unaware- You remain steadfast. God, You are the same. We run to You. Suspended in Your shock absorbing Presence…. Sometimes we have to stop momentarily and refrain from concluding and determining. Because these two things can get us temporarily trusting in ourselves. I promise you this…you don’t have anything as loyal as Him! You’re not going to find anybody more honest and wonderful as He is! What are you waiting for? Get Him in your life- involved in your life choices. Place everything in His hands. What are you thinking can take His place? There is nothing! He wants you. He wants you to…

Sand or Cement
Sand or Cement? Crash or Christ? Soft or Solid? I say “cement” because that’s what most people view as super hard, durable, and lasting. There are different mixtures and techniques to use with making cement. The truth is, Christ is Rock. (Psalm 18:2 My God is my rock.) Unlike us, there are no air bubbles in Him that will become weak points during strength tests because He is the strongest type of rock. He is strong for us. When we aren’t holding up, He is Bedrock. Unwavering. Unmoved. Unchangeable because there is nothing in Him that needs changing. My Dad always says when tough times come, you find out who…

The Most Beautiful Disaster
How God makes miracles out of our mistakes – Hope Carpenter. “I was a preacher’s wife, after all. I wasn’t allowed to have problems.” Pressures grow. Small mistakes can become big mistakes. Certain habits need to break. Some tones need to go. Unhealthy relationships need to stop. Little rebellions can’t be entertained. Values need to be valued. Have you ever thought and felt this way? This isn’t how I expected things to turn out. I don’t know if I can do this anymore. This book is about honesty- especially within the church. Hope writes: “Thankfully, by the time my fiftieth birthday party rolled around– the first time I had actually…
