• THE SUM OF OUR WORDS

I don’t want to exaggerate my difficulties or my good qualities. I don’t want to care so much that I overextend me without ever mentioning or pointing to You– the expert- The Christ! Looking for the “balance” is how we can resolve this issue. There’s so much that life offers. Proper balance is Him first. When cement foundations are poured and dried, everything built on them can be steady, secure, and in balance. He is that Rock for us. We build our thoughts, words, beliefs, and plans from His stability and strength beneath us. Bedrock withstands the weight of all life’s layers. He tips the scale of our hearts to be all out for Him…

  • Energizing the Ordinary

LEARN TO ENERGIZE THE ORDINARY by being creatively noncompliant with ego. We let go of our ego to see the worth and importance of other people and what they have to offer. That means we resist going along with the crowd or what is popular. The ulterior? Yes it creeps in sometimes. Ulterior is “existing beyond what is obvious or admitted; intentionally hidden.” Ulterior motives can often: 1. Translate messages. 2. Take things out of context. 3. Miss the point. 4. Deflate energy. Self-importance translates selfish. This is where no one else leaves feeling significant. But when we know our value, we can circulate value: God-importance translates significance. This is where someone else is…

  • “Full Of It”

We tend to tell people they are “full of it” when we perceive a know it all. I think we’ve all been full of it a time or two. From Google: Someone who essentially sounds like or plays the expert, without the expertise. A person who reasons with clever but false arguments. Exaggeration tends to come from us when we are looking for importance, wanting to prove a point, desperate to mask a problem, attempting to move passed pain, needing attention and connection, or just having fun with friends. Reactions from others drive us to overly expel blasts of information. Our rebel side wants to run with words, expand truth,…

  • Freedom for all

Choices are for all. Freedom is for any. But that path looks so different for each of us. Sometimes we have to give up our mission for His. At what cost did that freedom happen and what cost from you, will that “freedom” come? Will it spur the next generation onward in your ways, or in Godly outcomes and agendas?  LET’S GET REAL: Disobedience is dangerous. Unwillingness could be a bondage of fear, rebellion or timidity. And pride is not freedom. It is a very strong spirit of bondage and control. However, it is not near as strong as the Spirit of the living/loving God (Eph. 2:1-5). Pride is as a wall for any true healing and…

  • A Pour-Over

Do you know what happens when God pours out His Spirit? It gets you going again! Coffee gets a lot of people going every day and like me, I’m sure you’ve heard about “pour overs.” I don’t know everything there is to know about them because I’m not a coffee drinker, though I love the smell of it. However, I do know that a filter is involved and there is a period of time that it needs to sit and soak. When God’s Spirit settles in us, toxic things begin to come out and the flavor of life settles in. You don’t want to stay the same. His Spirit makes…

  • Are you bent on a breakthrough?

If the majority of us are going through painful experiences at the same time, we can relate but we probably cannot depend on the majority to solve all of our problems. And no matter how honest, loving, real, consistent, faithful, compassionate, and integrous we have been, are, or continue to be – it will not move or change or fulfill or ease some people’s problems! (Realization point: From the heart flows the issues of life. God holds us in His hands. We don’t have the whole world in our hands. It is He that is needed in that person’s life. We can intercede and believe. We can even be used…
