• Returning!

When we return something, we take it back. We go back to where we once were. We make things right. We give back the things, exchange them, or we get what we need through the correct transactions. Then we take it with us! Or we go looking for what we did not yet receive. Sometimes they don’t have on hand what we went back for. And maybe it’s something we can live without. Maybe it is something we can wait for. Maybe it will show up later. When we go back to a previous store and talk to the person to get things figured out, we’re essentially looking for customer…

  • A Return

When we reach out for God and we know He’s the One that gave us energy, peace, a solution, healing, and a way to overcome what we were in the middle of- When we again are weary, upset, have been hurt, don’t understand, can’t find the way through our problems, we must make our way back to Him. Restitution is the condition of something being restored to its rightful owner! In thinking about my own restoration these last few weeks, I wondered if I had not turned to Jesus, would I have eventually turned to drugs or toward an early grave? Thankfully I did not look to substances like I…

  • God’s Road

Walking the road of God can help us regain our focus. We can start again at what we thought we would always fail. Who doesn’t need a road to heal on? His is a road and a walk of true healing. Zechariah 10:12 is a very important scripture for me. It says that I’ll be strengthened in the Lord and in His name, I will live securely. It doesn’t say this is going to happen on all my good days only. It’s saying all my life! On my bad days. On my worst days. I can live with God’s strength at the forefront. The road of God is refreshing and…

  • The point of real change

Some people have never given God a turn to do something great in their life because they have to control things. We learned last week that it’s when we know the value of God’s Truth and getting answers from it, that we then can be brought to a point of real change. Pride stays around in those who do not value God, others, or themselves. You have to kick pride out. You have to stay open to Truth- and you will need to be committed to it in the great times and also in terrible times. Just try and put a value on God’s Truth! You may not realize it…

  • Burnout ADVICE

Stop doing the thing that’s destroying you. Look at real solutions. Try not to devour one another in strife and flames of anger, in ashes of bad attitude aroma, in nothingness and emptiness. Start a statement of faith. A few words of pure and raw honesty need to be applied to the compartments of your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual state of being! Make a change. Go ahead. Begin a forgiving, outspoken belief. Make a declaration of prosperity in all things. Do the hardest doggone thing you have ever done! Begin to do it well. And watch things evolve. Listen to renewed love- living better than burned out. Adjust the…

  • An extra minute

After college and internship, I worked for a doctor that took an extra minute of his time when I got to the point of desiring to broaden my surgical opportunities. Though we worked together well and felt like family, he walked to his office after appointments one day and wrote out a heartfelt recommendation for me to go to a big hospital and leave that office practice. A few days later, he called my house to make sure that was what I really wanted to do and he offered me a promotion to stay. I just couldn’t help but be more curious about the bigger picture forming in my head.…

  • The Hope Rope

We recently traveled to another church to do a revival weekend. Me and Derek thought about the congregation as we drove. We felt a freshness in our spirit for the people there that we had not met yet. As I prayed for them in the weeks prior to leaving our own city, I felt some specific things come to the surface. Maybe, as you read the topic today, you will be connected to its message and grab tighter to this strong rope as I elaborate a little from that initial, brief statement of truth and courage! For Tragedy and Loss. And challenges. There is a Rope of Hope for you.…

  • He’s Always My Help.

Jesus woke me up. He gave me life. A full one. And I’m rising up still! I’m taking on new levels. The God ladder is never too short. Not only will it be steps you need to get out of the pit, it will be steps to further you the rest of your life to your next levels! Lazarus would say: “Jesus awakens us. Jesus raises dead stuff. And dead people. He helped me and came to the grave. He told people who had given up, to take the grave clothes off and let me out!!” No matter how many days it’s been that somebody’s been lost in the dark,…

  • Letting the Supernatural show…

Did you know there’s a supernatural side of you?! Though I was a gymnast, cheerleader, softball player, on the track team, a J.C.Penny team board “model” once, and served in plenty of leadership endeavors, I honestly was not exceptional in any one thing, don’t extraordinarily stand out in a crowd, haven’t won awards for being photogenic, and never entered a beauty pageant. My parents didn’t care to have me involved in them and what a relief that was for me! This is just my story and for the most part, I was carefree and sporty. I attended church if we weren’t at the beach or if something else didn’t come…

  • Throwing Lifelines

Extending hope in times of difficulty is throwing a life line. Saying a prayer is throwing a life line. Being there when somebody is crashing down, giving a person discipline and guidance in a time that calls for it, is being a lifeline. Having an answer or just pointing them in a right direction, is tossing a spiritual rope of life in their direction! Human lifelines can be objects of obedience that act as pulleys. These “pulleys” are designed to support movement and change. They make it easier to lift what is heavy. They create a system of help that makes the difference.A couple months ago, I was able to…
