The Hope Rope

We recently traveled to another church to do a revival weekend. Me and Derek thought about the congregation as we drove. We felt a freshness in our spirit for the people there that we had not met yet. As I prayed for them in the weeks prior to leaving our own city, I felt some specific things come to the surface. Maybe, as you read the topic today, you will be connected to its message and grab tighter to this strong rope as I elaborate a little from that initial, brief statement of truth and courage!

For Tragedy and Loss. And challenges. There is a Rope of Hope for you. Some have been over occupied with death. Some have been lost in pain. Some have relentless anxiety. Some have been left to pick up things on their own.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 states that “though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” The Cord of Three Strands represents God, the groom, and the bride- braiding these three strands symbolizes the joining of one man, one woman, and God in marriage. For many years, I felt like I was missing a part of the rope. I felt my strength fading for the fight I was called to. The one that was worth the battle. We’ve got to team up. Two can resist him! Three-ply and threefold is even better. What I am calling The Hope Rope, has the three chords uneasily broken! IT IS A RESCUE ROPE. Have you not been in a predicament that you needed something strong to hold onto to?? This rope of rescue is long enough and strong enough for anything.

A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.” NLT
Strands of hope can be tossed to you from unlikely people and places. Are you like me and my husband… wanting to end the defeat by standing back to back? We can become conquerors together.

Courage Question: What can be done today to defeat what is defeating you? Have you ever spoken Psalms or Proverbs over yourself or your family? Perhaps it is a way of standing against the things that are standing against you!

Courage Quote: When you’re feeling down, God will surely have encouragement for you. Search His Words and see for yourself that He is saying some smart and comforting things to you. Know that He is tossing this Hope Rope your way!

Declaration: I am no longer despairing, and you can’t break my hope. There was once a time I was completely fractured, damaged to the point of not in good working order! But now you can’t break my hope. I’ve been given the strongest hope for my life, my marriage, and my overall health. Success is part of my day. The day may splinter. It might unravel a bit. But it won’t easily break me like before. When I’m at my wits end, there is a rope of hope available to me!
