ALL- SURPASSING #3
**** What if you found out today that Satan has been preventing you from the greatest treasures you could ever have, simply by using disbelief against you?! This inability (It could also be a refusal to accept that something is true or real. See 2 Thess. 2:11) comes from a lack of sufficient power within ourselves. We must recognize our need. We have to decide that the all- surpassing power of God, will be our sufficient help! While so much of the human race wanders around powerless due to a lack in belief and faith… Verse 4 in 2 Cor. Ch. 4 says “the god of this age (Satan) has…

ALL SURPASSING #2
We have the good news about salvation as precious treasure. 2 Cor. 4:7. Within our own human vessels or “clay jars” as one version puts it, there is a power from God. His sufficiency doesn’t come from us; it’s the other way around, of course. Our sufficiency comes from Him! He’s the One with the power. It originated with Him. It is all- surpassing. I marvel at the people who convince themselves that they are invincible. When you think about it though, they are obviously aware of a power inside. However, maybe they haven’t acknowledged it as God’s yet. Until then, that power could be used and abused. Grace allows…

ALL-SURPASSING #1
Power. There is an incomparable touch on our lives when we accept the ALL-SURPASSING power from God. His is an outstanding power that exceeds all other powers. You may have dealt with powerful people. You may have come up against powerful principalities too. But God, His power surpasses all. He’s superior, beyond excellent. He transcends our range of capability. If we are not moving in faith beyond our abilities, we are not seeing passed what humans can do. If we have an active spiritual life, resurrection life of a risen Savior, can be shown in us when we get back up from the world’s hard hits. To the glory of…

The rare things
At the end of a mundane prayer time recently, I asked God for the rare. I had been going through prayers for people that I’ve prayed before. It just seemed to be a lot of the same. When I prayed for rare things to happen, for rare doors to open, for specific rare things to take place, I felt God say: “Why not ask for the rare?!” Things got exciting and I left the dark, nightly lit room eager to see what will come of such a simple request. Rare things aren’t found in large numbers of mass quantity. You can seldom find something rare because it is uncommon. That’s…

The Power of Favor by Joel Osteen
“I’ve heard it said, ‘One touch of favor is worth more than a lifetime of labor’. Noah continually followed God’s will, did what was right and found favor with the Lord. Favor didn’t keep Daniel out of trouble. The trouble was a setup for God to endorse Daniel, to bring him into prominence. When David defeated Goliath, that one good break, that one endorsement, launched him into a new level of his destiny, and it made up for all those lonely years. Joseph had favor in everything he did.” Joel tells us one thing he’s learned: “…you can’t keep a favored man or woman down. You may have some obstacles,…

What we are NOT
There are a lot of things that I am and am not. What we declare that we are and are not, matters. “We are hard pressed on every side, but we are NOT crushed; we are perplexed, but we’re NOT in despair; we are persecuted, but we are NOT abandoned; we are struck down, but we are NOT destroyed.” We like to thank God for what we have. Many times we thank Him for who we’ve become or how far our family members have come in life. Have you ever thought about thanking God for what you are NOT? Sometimes we find ourselves declaring only the things we are at…

Make a Sound- part 6
Your heartache can accomplish deep ministry in someone else. Jesus went to the cross and accomplished that for us. It was only when we knew about it, that it became our healing comfort. You need to make a sound. Out of Jesus’ agony, He made a sound: “Father, it is finished!” This sound sent vibrations throughout the earth and connected us with heaven’s army. I’ve had the privilege of mentoring people already this year, to share their stories! It’s a great feeling to aid those who don’t know how to put their story into “good” words. God has made some promises to us. He will see us through. The way…

Make a Sound- part 5
I’ve taken extra care and attention delivering the messages here because this series has been so important to me. One Sunday night almost twenty-seven years ago, my Pastor, who is now my Father-in-law, gave people the chance to give a testimony. It was one of the first places I ever told what I faced as a teen. It was also the first time I sensed a true shift in the story of my life. It began to take on new meaning. From that point on, it took on a different sense of direction than I even knew was possible. Your voice is welcomed by God and He’s not holding a…

Make a Sound- part 4
Watch what happens when you tell your story. Practice sharing one part of it at first. Then add in other portions of it as time goes by. You’ll be astounded at how allowing your story to be told, will influence your own ears and heart. You will wonder why you waited so long to tell it. You will be free of the fear that kept it hidden and shut off. We’re all just humans. Your sound can make a change. It can give someone hope. It will help heal your own soul. There’s a sound coming from heaven that’s bold enough to find it’s way through our brokenness. That sound…

Make a Sound- part 3
Ears, contrary to the way some have put it, are not an “evolutionary innovation” but rather an incredible creation “that allows us to register sound waves in the air around us and process them as information. And it is not “magically” but amazingly planned out, “that ears give us the ability to sense even slight sound waves so that it can usually tell us exactly where the sound is coming from and what the meaning of it is. And it enables us to talk.” Though I don’t believe ears have just magically evolved over time but that they were made precise from the beginning, I do think our distinct voice…
