Pre-Prayer
Can you remember being a product of “pre-prayer”? A product is the answer when two or more values are multiplied together; it is the result of an action or process. “Where two or three gather together in My name, there am I with them.” (Matt. 18:20) What are your prayers? I want to share some of my definitions with you: Prayers are words that step higher than our normal words and dialogue. They go up. And take our thoughts to deeper levels. Prayer is agreement with the Trinity. It creates a zone for miracles. It causes moments of prophesy and renewal. Prayer is seeing people with God’s hand on them,…

Settle my Soul
At every life season, there are plenty of reasons to become unsettled! But Jesus would say: “Step into peace with Me.” What are you in the middle of ironing out? Smoothing over? Setting things right is such a chore when we breach a promise made to ourselves or to God that we thought should never have happened. From a bit of experience, I can tell you joy found a side escape door on more than a few occasions! You need to know today that joy can be recovered! It happens when we heal. It happens when we’re delivered. (Acts 8:4-8) God’s Words over us can bring healing. It can happen…

Hope’s Anchor
What’s your soul anchored to? Do you have a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen? Real hope and meaning gives your soul something to attach itself to. The biblical hope is a firm, secure, unwavering, steadfast HOPE. I tell my boys that I have high hopes for them because I believe they will live good lives. As parents, we are suppose to give them something to anchor up to, that will give them security. Have we slowly grown accustomed to anchoring ourselves with a cynical, doubtful and skeptical “hope” as we’re taken away from our cornerstone by drifting with these currents? A hopeless, unworkable mindset…

How do you fight a GIANT? #5
Big and proud falls hard and loud! Goliath was heavily weighted down with bronze, iron and arrogance; He had “the look” but David had the hook. With a sling and a stone, the giant was hit with force. “The Philistine fell facedown on the ground.” (1 Sam. 17:48-58) We can finally proclaim “I am done with you…. Lies, you have to go. This battle is the Lord’s!” Be deliberate. Get tired of the standoff and find your boldness. Don’t talk yourself out of better days by letting your mind run wild about all the things you could lose while trying to win. David knew if he did not kill his…

How do you fight a GIANT? #4
When others can’t see you as a champion, you’re gonna need to believe in yourself. Choose to approach your giant as a conqueror. (Rom. 8:35-37) Get a mental picture of what it will be like to put to death a giant of: poverty, evil, lust, harm, distress, or any other kind. Imagine yourself partaking of every good thing you’ve ever wanted. Those who fight giants have a reward waiting for them! Has there been an undefeated, generational giant, conquering and parading itself around your family like a champion? The enemy can win all day long, all year long…until he comes up against someone on the Lord’s side. Goliath was known…

How do you fight a GIANT? #3
Goliath was David’s GIANT. What is yours? You may be looking around at all the capable looking people standing near the giant that threatens your life and theirs. Maybe for a moment, you wish someone else would take care of it. Yet, you’re unable to shake the piercing nudge inside that it is not their giant to slay. (1 Samuel 1:26) Our background has something to do with the kind of giant we come up against in the future. David became a king but look what he fought as a shepherd: A lion and a bear (1 Samuel 17: 34-36). Lions, commonly known as “the king of beasts,” symbolize Kingly…

How do you fight a GIANT? #2
God did not reserve strength just for all the big and tall people. David had giant faith and a gigantic boldness on the inside, though he was not a large man. His own size didn’t hinder his purpose and nothing else should limit him either. (1 Samuel 16:6-7) When others see us, they think they see the extent of who we are but it is our inner qualities that can bear a huge fight and wage a winning war with a giant. When people saw David coming, they were not afraid, horrified or rattled. They weren’t dismayed at all. On the other hand, Goliath’s size and his words terrified Saul…

How do you fight a GIANT?
Are you tired of a king-size problem overshadowing you each day? Maybe this thing is causing distress for your family more so lately…bringing intimidation and declaration that sounds, well, BIG. Undesirable and down right terrible, it just keeps showing up! “Goliath stood and shouted to the ranks of Israel…” (1 Sam. 17:8) He was a giant, influential warrior of the Philistines. Assembled at Sokah in Judah, the Philistines had gathered their forces for war. Saul and the Israelites assembled also, camped in the Valley of Elah and drew up their battle line to meet the Philistines. “The Philistines occupied one hill and the Israelites another, with the valley between them.”…

A Standard of Faith
“We have to remind ourselves that we are not failures; we are learners.” Victoria Osteen In her new book Exceptional You, Victoria states: “I’m here to remind you who you are… you are exceptional. You weren’t made to live defeated, depressed, addicted, and unfilled…I believe things are changing and you are remembering who you really are.” She teaches that “God will use people, new experiences and even unchartered territory to nudge us out of our comfort zone.” Victoria proves this by sharing in Ch. 2 “I never thought I could stand up in front of the congregation and give a message every week.” It was her husband Joel who’s father,…

“Working the kinks out”
My morning regimen of getting the soreness out of this almost forty-four year old body consists of several things that take up to 10 min. and are well worth it. If too much time passes without me wisely including much needed stretches, a spiky sport ball for my feet and the foam back roller my husband introduced me to, the day begins to knot up from the get go. Literally from my neck down to my toes, will feel out of whack. Many a day, that roller thing saved me when I had no time for the chiropractor and when my fam didn’t know quite what to do to help.…
