Harvesting Hope

NOTE TO SELF: STOP BEING SO RESTLESS. REST. PUT YOUR HOPE IN THE ONE WHO MADE THE SKY.

Reflecting on the big Gatlinburg sky lift, I posted a picture in The Monday Mentor Facebook group of a young girl we met in line on our recent trip. We briefly discussed courage and shared a few laughs. Then the man at the control handle continued to repeat himself, hollering out: “Step up to the line! As the seat comes up behind you, sit down! Let it take you forward.” Once we got in our seats and ever so slowly headed back down the mountain, there were two things available to us: Quietness and Stillness. Have you been waiting your turn? Step up to the line. Get ready. Get in position. Fall into the seat and let it lift you to your place.

Again, again and again, the chairs were like big scoopers, gathering up the harvest of people and taking them into the sky.

Hosea 12: 6 “And wait expectantly for your God continually.”

Hope helps me calm down. There is peace that comes from a place of Connection!!!

The more I sit with Him, the less afraid I am of losing me, my grip, or what’s mine -Because He has me!! He has you!! It’s not the chair that has you or that big metal arm; They are just carriers for this moment. It’s not the bar or the chain rope; They’re assisting in a transition. It’s Him. Relax in that.

Don’t be afraid of spiritual heights. Depths. Refuse to linger in shame. Refuse to let sickness take all your moments. Refuse timidity and disobedience. Self Harm. Refuse it! Stop participating in it. HARVEST YOUR HOPE.

There’s a process and a season for harvesting. When we cultivate His Presence, it shoves the presence of chaos and fear out. It defeats despair. It harvests hope for us. Harvesting long awaited desires comes from trusting in Him!

*Courtney’s Courage Quotes:

I’m (we’re) going to collect my (our) crop(s). We’ll be able to store some of the extras but the harvest will be more than we can contain. It’s going to be so bountiful!
